April 2012 marks the first anniversary of our newsletter. Thanks to all of you for continuing with us as we journey through the delicious world of herbs and spices. Remember that your comments and suggestions are welcomed always. So, keep them coming!
The 1st is April Fool’s Day and folks all around the world are playing pranks and sharing jokes with friends and family. One thing that’s no joke though is the healthy benefits we all can get from cooking everyday with herbs and spices. One of the healthiest is Garlic which we get to honor on the 19th, its national food day. It can help lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Its antibiotic properties can ward off germs. Studies show that garlic may inhibit growth of cancer cells, especially those related to: colon, prostate, or stomach.
